| The general objective of the Niger Electricity Access project (NELACEP) is to increase access to electricity for households in order to contribute to the improvement of living conditions of populations in urban and rural areas. Component 2 of this project involves the extension and reinforcement of the distribution networks (medium and low voltage) in Niamey, in the chief towns of Niger's regions and electrification in rural areas.

| Technical assistance for transport governance in Ghana |
|
| The global objective of this assignment is to improve the sustainability and security of the regional road transport system. The specific objectives of this assignment are: (i) institutional and regulatory capacity building together with capacity building of administrations and relevant agencies and greater awareness of gender issues, (ii) administrative and technical simplification of transport, and (iii) improved maintenance of the regional network, and its sustainability by reducing overloading.
The expected results of the assignment are: (i) improved governance of road maintenance, and (ii) improved transport services, conditions and fluidity of regional road corridors. |

| The MCA - Senegal II Transmission Network Modernisation and Reinforcement Project (Transmission Project), for the benefit of SENELEC, will result in the construction of 16 km of 225 kV submarine cables, 31 km of 225 kV underground cables and 2 new 225 kV substations, as well as the installation of 5 new 80 MVA transformers.
Within the framework of this project, the Consultant is in charge of the following activities:
- Carrying out detailed designs and environmental and social impact assessments (ESIA);
- Preparation of Resettlement Action Plans (RAP) in accordance with the Resettlement Policy Framework (RPF);
- Economic and financial analysis and assistance to MCA - Senegal II in defining the monitoring and evaluation framework;
- Preparation of tender documents (including environmental, social and health and safety clauses) for the construction works and implementation of the RAP;
- Assistance in the procurement and hiring of contractors;
- Construction supervision. |

| Strategic Partner of the CILSS for support to irrigation solutions under types 1 and 3 |

| As part of Component “B” of the Project of Regional Support to the Sahel Irrigation Initiative Support Project (SIIP), the Strategic Partner (SP) under types 1 and 3 provides highly qualified technical assistance to the Regional Coordination Unit of the Project and to the six national Project Management Units (PMU) for the development of “irrigation solutions” to strengthen the capacities of the actors involved in irrigation planning and to implement the solutions identified under type 1 (partial water management: lowlands and controlled flood recession agriculture/cultivation systems) and type 3 (full water management: small-scale irrigation schemes managed by communities).
The SIIP finances efficient and reliable irrigation solutions for the revitalisation/modernisation and management of existing irrigated schemes and the development of new schemes (“sub-projects”), particularly in small- and medium-scale irrigation systems for a total target surface area of 23,225 ha by the end of the project (2023) in the priority intervention zones and divided into five major types of irrigation.
