Key Expert - Legal Expert (based in Jordan), Jordan

SOFRECO is looking for a legal expert for its EU-funded project in Jordan "Technical Assistance to the Ministry of Youth and Ministry of Labour". The expert must be based full-time in Jordan and have the right to work in Jordan.

The Legal Expert is responsible for assisting the Jordanian ministry of Youth and Ministry of Labor in the review and design of policies aimed at youth inclusion and youth employment. She/He will operate in a full coordination with the Team Leader and other team members. 

Qualifications and skills 

• At least Master’s degree in a discipline relevant to the assignment or, in its absence, a minimum of 5 years' experience additional to the general professional experience required below; 
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); 
• Fluency in Arabic (written and spoken); 
• Computer literacy.

General professional experience 

• A minimum of 7 years of general professional experience;  
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a legal expert.

Specific professional experience 

• Expertise in youth policies and youth inclusion will be an advantage;
• Experience of at least one year in the implementation of development cooperation projects in the above-mentioned areas;
• Working experience in the area relevant to the assignment in the EU or EU Programme beneficiary countries in Jordan and other countries in the MENA region will be an advantage;  
• Experience in capacity development programmes will be an advantage;  
• Experience in supervising a team and/or leading a research/policy initiatives will be an advantage.
