Key expert 2: Tourism Product Development and Marketing Expert (minimum 650 working days), Malawi

Qualifications and skills 

• At least a Bachelor’s degree in tourism management, marketing and promotion, tourism development or other relevant, directly related discipline; 

 • Fluent in English (at least C1 level; Language levels are defined for understanding, speaking and writing skills by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages available at https://europass.cedefop.europa.eu/en/resources/european-language-levels-cefr and should be demonstrated by certificates or by past relevant experience).

General professional experience

 • Must have a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant professional experience working in the tourism sector, preferably ecotourism, 

• Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience working with Governments, international partners, private sector operators and local communities.

 • Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in providing technical assistance for public authorities and agencies in tourism marketing and promotion and product development. 

• Must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience working in development cooperation projects, preferably EU funded. 

Specific professional experience 

• Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience working on tourism marketing and promotion projects, preferably ecotourism, 

• Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience working on development of ecotourism or sustainable tourism products and tourism services, 

• Must have experience in working on community-based tourism projects, 

• Must have experience in any of these areas and complementary to KE1: ecotourism standards and certification; or in tourism statistics. 

• Experience of working in SADC or EAC tourism destinations is an asset.
