The overall objective of this technical assistance is to help set up an efficient institutional framework for Togo's water sanitation (particularly rainwater sanitation) in order to sustainably improve its performance, make the proposed institutional arrangements operational, and thus significantly contribute to the urban resilience of the city of Lomé in the face of climate change.

Project management for the construction of the power line connecting the 30-MWp solar photovoltaic power plant in Ouagadougou (2021-2022)
The overall objective of the project financed by GreenYellow is to build and commission a 30-MWp solar power plant, located approximately 30 km north-east of Ouagadougou, together with its 33-kV evacuation line, all connected to one of the existing 33/90-kV delivery substations in Ziniaré owned by Sonabel.
SOFRECO is responsible for supervising work on the 33-kV connection line and for commissioning the solar power plant and line.

Study on the selectivity of purse seines, beach seines and set gill-nets with a view to managing small pelagic stocks (2013)
Encouraging the sustainable fishing of the main small pelagic stocks, and particularly mackerel, horse mackerel and blackspot picarel, through a significant reduction in catches of young fish, by proposing improvements to the selectivity of fishing gear and management measures adapted to the regeneration of stocks (creation of marine protected areas, respect of fishing seasons, etc.).

Efficiency of the FLEGT licensing scheme and effectiveness of the legality assurance system assessed through the services of an independent auditor (2017-2021)
While the overall objective of the FLEGT Voluntary Partnership Agreement is to contribute to the strengthening and improvement of forest governance and sustainable natural resource management, and tackle climate change by reducing GHG emissions in Liberia, the specific objective of the Independent Auditor of the System (AIS) is to audit the Legality Verification System (LAS), identify gaps, assess the effectiveness of corrective measures and verify the use of licenses when entering the EU market.
The audit of the LAS must reassure operators and authorities that the FLEGT authorisations issued (result of the LAS) are in conformity with the commitments entered into under the VPA and give the FLEGT license to be issued by Liberia, the credibility on which the entire FLEGT system is based.

Drafting of the National Energy Policy and of the National Strategy for Energy Access to All, and updating of the regulatory texts of the energy sector in Mali (2021-2022)
In order to have a political, legal, regulatory and institutional framework conducive to the promotion of renewable energy investments, the National Energy Directorate, through the Mali Electricity Sector Improvement Project (MESIP), was provided with support services from SOFRECO.
The project has two objectives: i) to finalise the process begun in 2013 of revising the National Energy Policy and to revise the associated regulatory texts; ii) to develop a National Strategy for Access to Electricity for All. The Malian stakeholders are the Direction Nationale de l'Energie (DNE), under the supervision of the Ministry of Energy and Water, and the other actors of the energy sector, notably institutions (EDM, AMADER, OSER, etc.).

Study for the Institutional Reform of the Oil & Gas Sector (2012)
Oil & gas exploration works in Mali have reached an advanced stage. Further to the first encouraging results, the Mali government decided to look into the setting-up of a national oil & gas company as well as one or several entities that would be in charge of the definition and implementation of a national strategy for the petroleum and hydrocarbons sector.
SOFRECO assisted the government in achieving this goal; our team developed an appropriate institutional framework for the management of the different aspects of the oil & gas sector.
