Job Opportunity: Senior Non-Revenue Water Specialist (K6) – Jordan Water Sector Efficiency Project
Location: Amman, Jordan
Contract Duration: 24 months (Part-time, 50%) over 48 calendars months
Expected Starting Date: After July 2025 (likely October 2025)

Project Context
Jordan is one of the most water-scarce countries in the world. The Jordan Water Sector Efficiency Project (JWSEP), co-financed by the World Bank, the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), and the Global Concessional Financing Facility (GCFF), aims to strengthen the sustainability, efficiency, and resilience of the country’s water services. The project is being implemented by the Water Authority of Jordan (WAJ) and the Ministry of Water and Irrigation (MWI) between 2023 and 2028, with a total financing envelope of USD 300 million.

Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Non-Revenue Water (NRW) Specialist (Key Expert 6) to provide high-level expertise and guidance on reducing water losses and optimizing system efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
• Advise on strategies for DMA formation, hydraulic modeling, and NRW reduction
• Review technical designs and assist with procurement specifications
• Support the water utilities in adopting sustainable NRW practices
• Monitor and evaluate NRW performance improvements

Required Qualifications


  • B.Sc. degree or equivalent in civil engineering, water sources and environmental engineering.


  • More than 15 years of overall engineering experience in infrastructure projects and/or water supply projects and 5 years of experience in hydraulic modeling, DMA formation, and NRW reduction.


  • Supervisory experience managing staff, contractors, and consultants.



  • Proficiency in the English language.

Working Conditions
• Duty station: Amman, with field travel as required
• Full-time presence expected throughout the project duration
• Consultant will be engaged through a consulting firm under a services contract
