Teacher Education Program Development/Quality Assurance Specialist (Co-Team Leader), Georgia (Tbilissi)

(Pre qualification phase)

The consulting services under this Worl Bank Funded assignment will focus on a range of activities and deliverables that have the overall objective of building the capacity of the state universities in Georgia and MES to implement modern academic programs for preparing the teachers, with special emphasis at the level of basic and secondary education.

A. Advanced university degree in Education or in another closely related discipline (for example, Education Management, Philosophy of Education, Educational Psychology, Comparative Education, Sociology of Education, Education Technology, etc);

B. 7 years of professional experience in developing/delivering/evaluating teacher preparation programs;

C. 5 years of experience of managing/participating in the projects of similar assignments implemented internationally or within the international collaboration projects;

D. Demonstrated knowledge of the best international practises related to the program benchmarks/standards/implementation models;

E. Knowledge/experience of Georgian HE, especially teacher education will be an advantage;

F. Fluency in written and spoken English;

G. Prior knowledge of and work experience in the education sector in EU/UK or US will be an advantage.
