This pre-feasibility study aims to support the University of Nairobi to develop its science and engineering complex. It must formulate its future directions, which will be fine-tuned by a feasibility study. At this stage, the study includes a general diagnosis of the demand for competences on the labour market and of those existing, and a forecast of future competences in specific fields. It also includes a roadmap for the establishment of the complex, covering infrastructures, equipment, human resources and the training to be delivered. |

Feasibility study on the modernisation of the training system for the tourism, hotel and catering professions (2018-2019) |
The authorities of Madagascar requested funding from the AFD to strengthen the initial training offer in the tourism, hotel and catering sector, particularly through the networking of training centres, modernisation of their economic model and operationalisation of apprenticeship- and alternance-based training. The main objective of this study is to examine the technical and financial feasibility of such financing from the AFD through: - an inventory of existing training establishments in the tourism, hotel and catering sector; - an in-depth diagnosis of a selection of training establishments in the tourism, hotel and catering sector; - the development of an overall support plan for the five establishments chosen; - the ultimate feasibility of the project and its dimensions. |

Support for the Training and Social and Professional Integration of Vulnerable Youth in Chad (Bab Al Amal) (2018-2022) |
The objective of the BAB-AL-AMAL project is to reduce the vulnerability of Chad’s youth and develop economic opportunities in several regions of the country (Sarh, Abeché, Ndjamena, Moundou) by developing dual apprenticeship training. The development of this training will involve the capacity building of professional organisations and of their actors, the upgrading of training centres, and support to FONAP in the capital and in the regional branches. |

Reinforcement Programme of Commercial Capacity for the Tourism Sector (2018-2022) |
The general objective of this assignment is to help the PMU to strengthen the commercial capacity of the tourism sector in Cambodia by building the capacity of private and public stakeholders, structuring public-private partnerships, and developing innovative commercial strategies. Strengthening the capacities of the Ministry of Tourism, private tourism operators and professional associations is thus at the core of this assignment, which is structured in four components: Component 1: Assisting the PMU in structuring and strengthening the capacity of the private sector; Component 2: Assisting the PMU in strengthening the capacity of the Ministry of Tourism; Component 3: Assisting the PMU in developing studies and pilot projects; Component 4: Strengthening the PMU in terms of project management. |

It targets secondary schools, training centres and universities to support them in the following areas: (i) renovation of infrastructures, (ii) equipment supply, (iii) improvement and development of training programmes in relation to the identified industrial sub-sectors, and (iv) training support for trainers. |
