Pilot Project for the Irrigation of Nam Kata (PPINK) (2017-2023) |
The main objectives of the technical assistance are to (i) assist in the establishment and running of the WUA of the Nam Kata scheme, (ii) provide extension services to beneficiaries, and (iii) support the District Agriculture and Forestry Office (DAFO) for project management. |
| Lenders’ Technical Advisor (LTA) for a PVC/PET and Caustic Soda Project (2019-2020) |
The LTA provided professional advice to the Lenders on the project in performing technical due diligence. The industrial complex consists of 6 main sections: the EDC/VCM plant, the PVC plant, the air separation plant, the ethylene terminal and cryogenic ethylene storage tank, the PET plant, and the caustic soda plant. During the review, the LTA reviewed key technical aspects, identified risk issues, and proposed an approach/mitigants to address these issues, where necessary. |

Developing Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) for Climate Change Resilient Water Infrastructure (2021) |
The project, conducted for the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre, consists in the stakeholders-driven development of regional standard operating procedures (SOPs) to guide and coordinate national water utilities in the development and management of water infrastructure that is resilient to climate change and natural disasters. This involves the training of both water utilities staff and wider communities in SOPs and Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) through a train-the-trainer scheme. |
| Promoting Private Sector Participation in the Gas Sector (2005-2008) |
Detailed examination of sector structure, unbundling of transmission and distribution companies, and investment planning were undertaken to meet the reform objectives and to facilitate greater private sector participation for sustainable development of the gas sector. |
| Technical assistance for capacity building in public procurement and technical editing (2020-2021) |
The aim of this project was to build sustainable capacity in public procurement within the Office of Procurement Regulation (OPR) and among stakeholders and to edit the handbook and guidelines to be used by public bodies in public procurement. |
| Mid-term evaluation of the Food and Nutrition Security programme in Bangladesh 2015 (2019-2020) |
The Food and Nutrition Security (FNS) programme 2015 aims to improve nutrition and to promote a sustainable food security system resilient to increasing climate change-related challenges in Bangladesh. The programme was made up of 3 components and 6 projects: - Component 1 (EUR 8 M): Meeting the undernutrition challenge (MUCH), 01/2017-12/2020; - Component 2 (EUR 35 M): Ending the cycle of undernutrition in Bangladesh (SUCHANA), 01/2017-12/2022; - Component 3 (EUR 35 M): Leadership to ensure adequate nutrition (LEAN), Sustained opportunities for nutrition governance (SONGO), Joint action for nutrition outcome (JANO), and Bangladesh initiative to enhance nutrition security and governance (BlenGS), 09/2018-08/2023. |
| Strengthening the capacity of civil society organisations (2020-2021) |
The global objective is to increase local CSOs’ capacity to perform their roles as independent development actors more efficiently. The specific objectives are to: (i) improve CSOs’ capacity in proposal writing, general project management including financial aspects, and the management of EU grant contracts, and; (ii) improve CSOs’ capacity in management and advocacy with particular attention to the Sustainable Development Goals. |
