| Commercial viability study of a vehicle scrapyard (2021) |
The Support Project for the Competitiveness of Logistics Services for Trade ($18 million) provides for the renewal of the road transport vehicle fleet in particular, enabling passenger and goods road transport companies to renew their fleets and become more competitive. Under this component of the project aimed at setting up a system for treating and recycling vehicles that are too old and that will be taken off the road, the study aims to assess the technical and commercial feasibility of a vehicle scrapyard meeting environmental and social standards, integrating both the organisational and financial dimensions of the value chain (governance, economic model, etc.) and the technical and operational dimensions (site, process description and layouts, guide drawings of the facilities and infrastructures). It covers the vehicles that will be removed from the vehicle fleet as part of the renewal programme, as well as any other vehicles destined for scrapping according to criteria to be defined with the competent authorities. |

| Mission to identify the gas potential of the AGADEM block and its industrial applications (2019-2021) |
This study is carried out under the supervision of the Directorate-General for Hydrocarbons of the Ministry of Petroleum. Its objective is to determine if the gas from oil deposits located in two exclusive exploitation authorisation (EEA) zones awarded to the consortium led by the China National Petroleum Company NP, can be used for commercial purposes. The assignment will aim to identify the gas potential on the two EEA awarded and on the possible third EEA requested by CNOC NP and, depending on the potential identified, will propose schemes for the commercial use of this gas. |

| Technical assistance for the Ministry of Energy as part of institutional support and strengthening the capacities of parties involved in the energy sector in Benin (RECASEB) (2017-2024) |
The specific objective of the RECASEB programme is to improve the institutional framework of the energy sector in Benin at regulatory and organisational level and to support/encourage reforms. These reforms must make the sector more attractive for public and private investment, including new production units, particularly via renewable sources and the extension of the network for greater access to electricity services throughout the country, particularly in rural areas. The components of the RECASEB programme are organised around three main pillars: - Capacity building of the energy sector; - The development of management, supervisory and decision-making tools for the steering and implementation of the strategic thrusts; - Information and documentation to the parties of the sector and the general public (civil society, consumers, etc.). |
| Technical assistance for non-state actors strengthening programme (2009-2012) |
The overall objective of the programme is to contribute to good governance, poverty reduction and the enhancement of sustainable livelihoods. The purpose of this project is to empower NSAs (non-state actors) in the Gambia and to strengthen their capacities to enable them to play a more active and effective role in public life and in the country’s development process. The Consultant’s specific objective in implementing the contract is to establish and operate a Programme Management Unit (PMU) that will coordinate and implement the programme activities designed to enhance the roles and capacities of NSAs in the Gambia. |
| Formulation of the ECOWAS regional infrastructure development plan (2015-2022) |
SOFRECO is assisting ECOWAS to prepare and update a long-term regional infrastructure development master plan in the sectors of energy, transport, cross-border water resources and communication technologies. Synchronised sector plans are to be developed taking account of the current PIDA-PAP (Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa - Priority Action Plan) and other projects determined by the diagnostic study. |
