Study on gold mining and its impact in the Falémé (Senegal River basin) (2021-2023) |
The overall objective is to characterise and assess the impacts of gold mining activities on the Falémé environment in general, and in particular, the impact on the quality of water resources and the hydrological regimes of the river. Lastly, this study enables a proposal to be made for corrective measures and an action plan aimed at limiting the impacts of this activity. |
| Institutional support and improvement of the public financial management system (2009-2013) |
The specific objectives are: Objective 1: Management and coordination capacity building, particularly by improving mechanisms for accounting, financial and project information transmission, processing, dissemination and use. Objective 2: Development of a standardised external control implementation strategy and of an internal control consolidation strategy. Objective 3: Measurable capacity building in key areas of PFM: tax planning, public procurement management, securisation of governmental accounting, coordination of external aid, and budget support. Objective 4: A draft Multi-year Harmonised Institutional Support Programme in PFM is developed and submitted to the Government and to the Technical and Financial Partners to determine together the resources to be mobilised. |
| Project management assistance for the extension, reinforcement and densification of the distribution networks of component 2 of NELACEP (2021-2024) |
The general objective of the Niger Electricity Access project (NELACEP) is to increase access to electricity for households in order to contribute to the improvement of living conditions of populations in urban and rural areas. Component 2 of this project involves the extension and reinforcement of the distribution networks (medium and low voltage) in Niamey, in the chief towns of Niger's regions and electrification in rural areas. Within the framework of this project, SOFRECO is carrying out the Project Management Assistance on behalf of the NIGELEC company. |

| Control, supervision and monitoring of services for the design, supply and construction of rural electrification works (PROSER) (2022-2024) |
The objective of the services is to ensure the proper implementation of the works to be constructed as part of the PROSER project for 805 locations spread across 17 regions of the country. The works planned for PROSER concern the construction of 6,460 km of 33kV overhead lines, the installation of 1,394 substations, and the construction of 3,419 km of LV lines, as well as 113,838 LV connections and the installation of 94,023 public lighting units. |
