Preparing irrigation and drainage system development in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (2020-2021)
The project will support rehabilitation and modernization of the irrigation and drainage networks serving about 23,230 ha of land in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) of Azerbaijan. The project will also help strengthen institutional capacity of the irrigation system management and operators. The project will include two indicative outputs: (i) irrigation and drainage infrastructure improved and/or constructed; and (ii) capacity of the Amelioration and Water Management Open Joint-Stock Company (AWMC) and water users associations (WUAs) in irrigation and project management improved.
Agricultural Marketing and Brand Development (2011-2013)
The objective of this project is to provide assistance to selected enterprises in terms of agricultural marketing and brand development in niche markets with a view to developing premium brands for Mongolian agricultural products and to develop partnerships with foreign brands.
The project also aims to set up the foundations for a brand development agency whose objective would be to help enterprises develop original and collaborative brands in the long term.
Technical assistance on the Horticulture Development Project (HDP) – Horticulture technology component (2020-2023)
Technical assistance to the Agroindustry and Food Security Agency of Uzbekistan for the modernisation and development of the horticultural sector through the enhancement of production, post-harvest handling (PHH), storage and packaging technologies throughout the fruit and vegetable value chains.
Regulatory Assessment of the Azerbaijan Horticulture Value Chain (2020)
Establishment of a list that is as exhaustive as possible of the documents necessary for production, marketing and processing in the horticultural value chain (fruits and vegetables) based on an analysis of the legislation and discussions with stakeholders in businesses and administration.
Support for the Development of Public Internal Financial Control (Phase III) (2015-2018)
The purpose of this contract is as follows: a) to support the operation of the Financial Management and Control system at all levels of the public sector, in accordance with the Public Sector Financial Management and Control Law, and b) to support the strengthening of public sector Internal Audit skills and capabilities to ensure comprehensive risk based audits are conducted, in line with the Internal Audit Law and according to the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
Support to the National Coordinating Unit (NCU) in Kyrgyzstan (2013) (2012-2013)
The overall objective of this assignment is to strengthen the capacities of the National Coordinating Unit and Public Administration to implement the Country Development Strategy, the EU-Kyrgyz Republic Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA) and Public Investment Programme (PIP), as well as to facilitate dialogue between the European Union and Kyrgyzstan.
Support for the improvement of the investment climate and export climate (2009-2011)
Improvement of the economic development of Azerbaijan and reduction of its dependence on the oil sector through: promotion of economic diversification and exports in non oil sectors, including through increasing share listing and the country private sector attractiveness for FDI, and fostering the development of capital markets and promoting portfolio investment.
Strategic review and programming mission – Country Strategies for China and Mongolia (2005)
Overall evaluation of the European Commission’s official development assistance to China and Mongolia to enable Commission managers and officials to assess the state of implementation of the current support strategy to both countries and of their Indicative Programmes in order to prepare future interventions for the period 2007-2013 (Country Strategy Papers).
