Technical Assistance for the Programme to Support the Implementation of the Association Agreement (P3AIV) (2019-2023) |
This project supports the P3A PMU in the strategic steering, operational implementation and monitoring of the Programme. It supports the strategic planning, identification, formulation, implementation and/or supervision of activities through the four institutional twinning instruments, TAIEX, SIGMA and ad hoc actions. The TA activities aim for both the institutional and organisational strengthening of the PMU, the strengthening and coordination of the network of focal points within the beneficiary ministries, and the effective supervision of all the activities financed by the programme (from formulation to implementation), and lastly, the effective implementation of part of the activities through short-term (ad hoc) expert assignments. |

SOFRECO is drafting Independent Review Reports (mid-year and end-year) and is signing off on the 2020 JORC Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves Reports for the Al Khabra mine. The mineral resources and ore reserves are being reported by MWSPC under the Australasian Code for Reporting of Exploration Results, Minerals Resources and Ore Reserves, the JORC Code (2012 edition), for the period ending 31 December 2020 (January to September with actual data, and October to December with forecasted data). |

| Phosphate-3 Project Complimentary Fieldwork (2018-2019) |
Design, supervision and studies for the complementary works of the PHOS-3 project: - One Trial Mining Cut (TMC) for the characterisation of the UMW4-5 deposit, including drill and blast, digging tests, equipment performance, bulk sampling (app. 60 t of ore), transportation for crushing and milling tests, in-situ bulk density, moisture content and Point Load Test (PLT - optional) as well as geological logging and sampling. - Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling as part of grade control. |
| Cement and Steel Sectors Competitiveness Study (2020) |
This study aimed to examine the steel and cement sectors in Afghanistan with a particular focus on the competitiveness of production firms, their contribution to the country's economic growth, and obstacles to their development. The information was gathered through questionnaires and interviews carried out with different actors of the sectors such as production factories, construction firms, importers/exporters, chambers of commerce and ministries. The final report described the situation of both sectors and included recommendations for their future development. |
