ENPI — Building the development capacities of Jordanian municipalities (Baladiaty) (2011-2013) |
The overall objective of the Project was to contribute to poverty alleviation and socio-economic development by contributing to improved local governance. The project placed major emphasis on building the capacity of municipalities to address their financial, administrative, implementation, management and operational weaknesses. This capacity building led to an improvement in the effectiveness and efficiency of government-related programmes, and also in the municipalities' overall performance in contributing to the local development process. |

The project's objective was to ensure that public expenditure of the federal government is better aligned with government strategies. The specific objective was to build the capacity of the Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance, and support the sustainability of MTBF & MTEF reforms by ensuring that federal government staff have the skills and knowledge to carry them through. |
| Technical assistance to support the implementation of EU cooperation programmes in Tunisia (2023-2028) |
The aim of the Technical Cooperation Facility (TCF) is to increase the effectiveness of the EU Delegation and its partners in implementing current and future EU cooperation programmes in Tunisia. The specific objectives of this contract are as follows: (i) Strengthen the various phases of the cooperation project cycle (including the formulation, identification, implementation and monitoring of programmes and projects), (ii) Strengthen political dialogue (and sectoral political dialogue) between the EU and Tunisia, (iii) Strengthen the capacity of line ministries and other stakeholders to implement and monitor programmes, and (iv) Facilitate the coordination and visibility of the Team Europe Initiatives (TEI) and other joint initiatives. |
| Recruitment of the PSU and short-term technical assistance for the Economy Management Support Programme (AMECO) (2007-2012) |
The programme aimed to improve economic information and to facilitate mid-term decision making in the design and implementation of macroeconomic, sectoral and regional policies through the development of a system for collecting, analysing and modelling statistical data. The Consortium provided the personnel for a programme support unit (PSU) (5 experts) and short-term expertise. |
| Technical assistance to the Decentralization and Local Development Programme (DLDP) (2010-2011) |
The TA to the implementation of the DLDP in the Syrian Arab Republic includes: - consolidating the institutional mechanisms to support local governance processes and modernising administrative units. - improving service provision and local economic development through the establishment of comprehensive local (and regional) development strategies and an institutional framework. - enhancing institutional and human capacities at various levels of local public administration. The project was interrupted in May 2011 following the events in the country. The initial contract amount was EUR 6 994 000 and the initial duration was four years. |
| Establishment of mining cadastre, inspectorate, audit and licensing functions within the Ministry of Mines (2008-2011) |
The Afghanistan Ministry of Mines is being restructured to perform essential advisory, regulatory, facilitating and promotional functions related to the mining and hydrocarbon sectors. Our consortium is working on: - establishment and operational support to the Cadastre Department which will be responsible for the issuing and management of mining and hydrocarbon licences and contracts; - establishment and capacity building of the Inspectorate Department with responsibility for monitoring and maintaining technical, safety and elements of the financial standards of mining operations. |
| Support unit and ad hoc technical assistance for the Economic Diversification Support Programme (DIVECO) (2011-2015) |
Support to the Algerian administration in the implementation of a programme aiming to improve the economic performance (competitiveness, job creation, exports, etc.) of the agriculture, agri-food and tourism sectors. The actions focus on building the capacity of the institutions in charge of these sectors' follow-up, and of professional organisations, on the creation and strengthening of technical centres and of a centre of excellence, and on the definition of a tourism marketing strategy. To accomplish the services, provision of a team of sectoral experts forming a Support Unit and of specialised short-term technical assistance. |
