International Technical Assistance and Expertise Infrastructure Project Management mission (2022-2024)
The general objective of the School Environment Improvement Plan is to alleviate environmental constraints for improved student learning through the overall rehabilitation of the infrastructure of about 45 existing target schools, spread over the 3 islands.
The specific objectives of the project are to:
- Build and renovate sustainable schools in Comoros, including bioclimatic construction provisions adapted to the local context;
- Mobilise and sensitise local communities in the global rehabilitation programmes so that they take ownership of the project;
- Conduct design studies for at least one comprehensive rehabilitation project for a primary school and one comprehensive rehabilitation project for a secondary school;
- Supervise and coordinate local project management during the design study phase.

Conduct of a technical, economic, financial and environmental feasibility study for the hybridisation of the NIGELEC thermal power plant in Diffa, Niger, with photovoltaic solar energy, as well as its integration into the national grid.

Technical due diligence of a 60MW wind farm (2022)
The Ghoubet project is a 60MW under-construction wind farm in Djibouti. It is developed by an Independent Power Producer (IPP), Red Sea Power, and works are conducted by Siemens-Gamesa.
A company, which is considering acquiring a stake in the project, has tasked a group of consulting firms to conduct a complete due diligence of the project. SOFRECO was responsible for the on-site technical due diligence. The purpose of the visit was to assess the physical state of construction, to compare this with the project's progress reports and to produce a report highlighting areas of concern or red flags.

Feasibility study for the second electricity interconnection project for Côte d'Ivoire/Burkina Faso (2022-2023)
Conduct of a feasibility study on:
- the construction of a second high-voltage connection from Ferkessédougou or a neighbouring location on the Ivorian network (Kong) to Bobo Dioulasso (204 km) and from Bobo Dioulasso to Ouagadougou (336 km);
- the extension and/or construction of substations;
- electrification of communities and villages along the line and around the substations;
- the installation of compensation and synchronisation equipment and flow control, if required;
- CI-ÉNERGIES (Côte d'Ivoire) and SONABEL (Burkina Faso) network reinforcements, if required.

Formulation of the ECOWAS regional infrastructure development plan (2015-2022)
SOFRECO is assisting ECOWAS to prepare and update a long-term regional infrastructure development master plan in the sectors of energy, transport, cross-border water resources and communication technologies.
Synchronised sector plans are to be developed taking account of the current PIDA-PAP (Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa - Priority Action Plan) and other projects determined by the diagnostic study.

Technical assistance for capacity building on safety and security training requirements of Turkish civil aviation (2015-2017)
The purposes of this project are as follows:
- To undertake activities that will help the operationalisation of a new civil aviation training centre in Istanbul by developing an effective training policy, programme, curriculum, and other necessary policies and documents focused on safety and security aspects based on the EU acquis and relevant international legislation in the air transport sector.
- To ensure the visibility of the training centre by developing a communication campaign targeting stakeholders and the general public in Turkey and abroad.
