Capacity building in the protection of intellectual property rights (2007-2009)
The objective of the project is to improve the industrial and intellectual property framework in BiH to meet the “TRIPS-plus” requirements, which will contribute to fulfilling WTO and Stabilisation and Association Agreement conditions as well as those of CEFTA 2006. The project supports the development of the BiH IP Institute’s institutional capacity so that it can ensure the conduct of all its necessary functions, the strengthening of the industrial and intellectual property legal framework in conformity with TRIPS-plus, and the application of legislation on intellectual and industrial property.

EU Support to Competition and State Aid (2006-2008)
The objective of the assistance, within the framework of the long-term partnership between BiH and the European Union, was to contribute to progress in the Stabilisation and Association process and foster institutional development and economic growth in BiH. More specifically, the project aimed at developing the government’s capacity to regulate competition and design, monitor and control a State Aid system, hence improving the functioning of the BiH single market in harmony with the EU, leading to greater trade and investment within BiH.

The objective of the mission was: (i) to develop and enhance the legal and institutional framework on non-tariff barriers to trade and enable the implementation of the country’s trade policy; (ii) to identify the economic impact of Kazakhstan’s involvement in regional trade organisations and the regional integration process (Single Economic Space, Customs Union, Free Trade Area, etc).

Support for the implementation of the Partnership and Co-operation Agreement (PCA) between the EU and Azerbaijan, Phase III. Technical assistance for the PCA’s implementation: building capacity within the administration to identify priority sectors for the implementation of the trade, economic and commercial provisions of the PCA; assisting with legislative and administrative reforms and with approximation with EU legislation in the PCA fields; and assisting with accession to the WTO.

Cambodian Rubber International Certificate Issuance and Commercialization Support (2005-2009)
The main objective of this project is to increase income for all stakeholders in the Cambodian rubber commodity chain. It aims: (1) to reorganize the commodity chain to achieve better commercial equity between the different stakeholders; (2) to secure additional currency earnings for the country in order to rectify an estimated loss of 8 million dollars per year due to discounting of Cambodian natural rubber on the international market; (3) to ensure higher employment in the sector on both smallholdings and estates.
