This assignment is part of a programme whose overall objective is to contribute to the sustainable and equitable management of fisheries in an effort to reduce poverty and improve food security in ACP countries. The specific objective of the ACP Fish II programme is to strengthen the development and implementation of a sectoral fisheries policy in ACP countries.
The specific objectives of this assignment are the following:
- Support Burkino Faso authorities in the development of a national fisheries and aquaculture policy document intended to set the short, medium and long term objectives of the fisheries and aquaculture sector and to determine the strategies necessary to fulfil them;
- Support Mali authorities in the development of a national fisheries and aquaculture policy document that sets out the orientations and objectives of the fisheries and aquaculture sector, and in defining the strategies and actions to be undertaken in order to accomplish these objectives.
